Uchucchacuaite

Micro grey crystals to less than 0.5 mm on rhodochrosite associated with stannite, freibergite and possible wurtzite.
Origin: Bera Basin #4 mine, King Co., Washington, United States
Sample size: 2.5 x 2.5 x 1 cm (top), 3 x 2.5 x 1 cm (2nd row), 3 x 2 x 1 cm (bottom)

Silvery micro crystals to 0.5 mm associated with galena (distiguished by crystals and cleavage) in several areas on rhodochrosite matrix.
Origin: Inakuraishi mine, Shakotan Peninsula, Shiribeshi Prov., Hokkaido Island, Japan
Sample size: 1.8 x 1.9 x 1 cm

Dakota Matrix Minerals

A solid piece composed of veins of rhodochrosite mixed with alabandite. At the right end is a crystalline cavity of rhodochrosite rhombs, and all around that cavity are veins and vugs of minute uchucchacuaite crystals grown together in andorite-like crystal clusters that are easily eye-visible. As well, there is another sulfide species present in one vug (bottom-left photo) which has a different crystal form entirely.

Uchucchacuaite on rhodochrosite

A solid piece of alabandite matrix with some minor rhodochrosite veins running through it, presenting a frontal display face of 5 x 4 cm that is full of uchucchacuaite crystals.
Origin: Inakuraishi Mine, Furubira, Hokkaido, Japan
Sample size: 7 x 4 x 3 cm (top/2nd row), 8.5 x 5 x 4 cm (3rd/4th row), 5 x 4.5 x 4 cm (5th/6th row)
