This specimen of massive hematite has a layer of calcite in which are dozens of nearly colourless crystals of svabite to 3 or 4 mm across. There are quite a few for when the specimen is exposed to SW UV light over half the area is yellow instead of the customary orange of calcite. This specimen comes from the England workings of the mine at the 165 meter level. This is where the finest specimens of svabite from Långban were found. Also present are scattered crystals of manganoan phlogopite and several druses of small yellowish garnet further confirming the location of the mine where this specimen came from.
