Stannoidite

Though the label does not state it, this is presumed to be from the Cambell shaft (ref. Anthony, J. W. et al Min. of AZ). In this reference it states that the stannoidite occurs "as a coating on, or an infilling between, pyrite grains: associated with canfieldite". This specimen was apparently tested as one side has been sawed perhaps for a polished section for microprobe or ore microscopy work. It is indeed mostly pyrite with areas of dull grey and brown.
Origin: Bisbee, Cochise Co., Arizona, United States
Ex. Kidwell collection
Sample size: 2.2 x 2 x 1.8 cm
