Large 4 x 4 cm green spinel octahedral crystal in calcite matrix; Spinel is altering to muscovite + kaolinite; Ex Scott Williams Mineral company and Ex - Collection Judy & Chris Cook

This specimen has several lustrous, deep blue crystals of spinel etched out of the encasing calcite. The largest crystal is 0.9 cm across. The crystals are dominantly dodecahedral with trapezohedral face modifications.

Origin: Beronono, Toliara, Madagascar
