Sphalerite

  
This specimen is loaded with the zinc bearing minerals sphalerite (variety cleiophane), willemite and franklinite. Under SW UV light the sphalerite is fluorescent orange, blue and peach colored. The willemite is a typical fluorescent green. Cleiophane is a colourless variety of sphalerite.

This complete cubic crystal of galena is nearly smothered with crystals of ruby jack sphalerite. The largest sphalerite crystals reach up to 0.5 cm across.
