This remarkable old specimen is a silver with minor copper content (so it may be called a "halfbreed," though unlike the Michigan halfbreeds this is vastly more silver with the copper just an impurity within it as an amalgam). The minor copper content makes it very reflective and unusually bright with a fine metallic patina (in person, it is as reflective as shown but a more subdued silvery hue than the brassy shade it looks in the photo).
