Rhodonite

Rhodonite with quartz
Origin: Spider Mine, Trinity County, California, U.S.A.
Sample size: 14.7 x 9.3 x 6 cm

This specimen is comprised of large blocky crystals of rhodonite. The black mineral is franklinite. The calcite and minor willemite fluoresce under SW UV light.

This specimen has abundant small sharp crystals of rhodonite to 3 mm and numerous bladed crystals of Mn-Axinite. There is also a beige crust of bementite over a portion of the specimen. The usual willemite is visible under SW UV light.

This layered specimen is comprised of rhodonite, willemite, andradite and franklinite. The white mineral is non-fluorescent feldspar.

This specimen is comprised of crystalline rhodonite of bright pink colour. In among the crystals of rhodonite are found masses of hedyphane and several lustrous gem crystals of willemite. Ex. R. B. Gage Collection
