The Arkenstone

Realgar, though a common mineral found in many places around the world is quite rare from Långban. This specimen has crystals to 0.8 cm across which are considered enormous for the species at Långban. The large crystals of realgar from Långban were found in the Irland workings. The matrix on this specimen is consistent with the specimen in the Swedish Museum of Natural History having matrix of green magnetite bearing skarn.
Origin: Långban, Sweden
