This specimen is comprised of included quartz crystals. The nature of the inclusions is unknown. There are some attached partial, jet black aegerine crystals.
Origin: Sovietskiy #2 Mine, Dal Negorsk, Primorsky, Russia
Sample size: 7 x 5.5 x 3 cm
 
  
This specimen is essentially solid hematite rich quartz. It was/is referred to as järnkisel and it was an important iron ore constituent.
Origin: Långban, Sweden

The crystal of quartz is heavily curved (Gwindel) and has abundant inclusions of small hematite crystals. The quartz also has a small root beer coloured crystal of siderite attached to it at the base.

This doubly terminated crystal of quartz has phantom inclusions of an unknown green mineral.
