This is a solid nugget of platinum from the type locality for the metal.
Origin: Rio Tinto, Papayan, Cauca, Colombia
Sample size: 1.2 cm - 2.2 grams (top), 1.1 cm - 1.5 grams (2nd row), 0.5 cm across (bottom left), 0.6 x 0.5 x 0.2 cm (bottom right)
 
  
This specimen consists of two intergrown cubic crystals of platinum partially covered in native gold. The specimen was lightly stream worn as evidenced by the slight rounding
