The Arkenstone

The light blue green phosphophyllite crystals reach 4-6 mm and are crystallized throughout the matrix in vugs. The crystals are very perfect with typical "fish-tail" (twinned) habit, in the front there's a 1.4 cm aggregate. Also present is some parascholzite and fairfieldite associated. The matrix is a combination of quartz and feldspar matrix, also present in it is what appears to be massive dark blue vivianite.

Light bluish green micro crystals to 1 mm in quartz vug
Origin: Hagendorf South Pegmatite (Cornelia Mine; Hagendorf South Open Cut), Waidhaus, Vohenstrauß, Oberpfalz, Bavaria, Germany (type locality)
Sample size: 6 x 5 x 4 cm (top), 4 x 3 x 2 cm (bottom)
