Origin: Shagand Yazd, Iran
Sample size: 4.1 x 5.7 cm. The matrix of this specimen consists dominantly of yellow, orange and red parabutlerite. One edge of sample consists of a band of parabutlerite about 1 cm wide. Numerous > 2 mm dipyramidal crystals are present.

Yellow translucent to opaque crystals of parabutlerite to 0.5mm on darker orange, blocky butlerite crystals to 2mm. The parabutlerite occurs as lustrous blocky crystals much smaller than the butlerite. There may be a third mineral, which shows in the photo as opaque, elongated, platy yellow crystals to about 0.75 - 1mm. These platy crystals may or may not be parabutlerite. They definitely have a different morphology than the said parabutlerite.
Origin: Saghand, near Yazd, Yadz Prov., Iran
