Oyelite

Botryoidal bultfonteinite with a very heavy coating of oyelite - a rare calc-silicate species. This white mineral was routinely rinsed off of bultfonteinite specimens for sale to collectors when it was coming out of the ground. Hence, only a rare few examples still remain.
Origin: N'Chwaning Mine, Kurman, South Africa
Sample size: 6 x 4.5 x 3.2 cm
