Melanotekite

This specimen is nearly solid melanotekite which was not typical for specimens of this mineral. Hence, it is likely that this specimen came from the Norrbotten workings where a huge mass of solid melanotekite was found in 1897. Melanotekite is a lead iron silicate and close in composition to the more plentiful kentrolite which has manganese instead of iron. Also present are scattered lath shaped crystals of richterite.
