Malachite
Origin: It has an index card from Carnation heiress Marion Stuart''s
collection, showing it to be from Russia, and a separate piece of paper that
says it came from Arch Oboler via Martin Erman. The next label is from the
Natural History Museum in L.A., which had the specimen on loan from Ms.
Stuart, and which shows the location as "Katanga, Zaire", but also with
(USSR?) under it - so perhaps it was the curator there who wondered if it
might be from Africa rather than Russia. The next label is Dave Bunk''s, first
with the locality as "Russia?" and a price of $2,500, but with this price
scratched out and replaced with $400, and the locality as "Zaire?"
