Malachite

  
 
  
This specimen of cuprite and chalcocite is covered with rich green crystals of primary malachite. The malachite is found as acicular crystals crudely aligned into rhombs. There are also a few small calcite crystals colored red by inclusions of cuprite var. chalcotrichite.
  
A crystal group of large deep ruby red cuprite crystals with a thin bright green coating of malachite as an alteration species. There are also two small clusters of calcite attached to the specimen.
