White to yellow clear hurlbutite with red montgomeryite, englishite and whitlockite on beryl matrix

White to yellow clear hurlbutite with red montgomeryite, englishite and whitlockite on beryl matrix

Clear to white spheroids of extremely rare hurlbutite micro crystals to about 0.75 mm scattered on beryl matrix associated with purplish to red roscherite as micro rosettes to less than 0.25 mm and pearly, white englishite to 0.5 mm, montgomeryite is also present as crystal aggregates to 3mm

Clear "beads" of hurlbutite to about 0.5mm associated with red sprays of montgomeryite to 3mm and associated with black robertsite, white englishite as micro, pearly crystals and minor fairfieldite.

Specimen with pearly, spheroidal crystals to 0.5 mm with minor tiptopite (white, acicular), red roscherite rosettes and light pink, lath shaped montgomeryite, and minor englishite.
Origin: Tip Top mine, Custer Co. South Dakota, USA
Sample size: 3 x 2 x 2 cm (top), 5 x 4 x 2 cm (2nd row), 8 x 8 x 3 cm (3rd row), 11 x 7 x 3 cm (4th row), 4 x 2 x 1 cm (5th row), 5.5 x 4 x 2 cm (6th/7thbottom row)

The hurlbutite occurs as clear "beads" to about 0.4 mm with white tufts of englishite to about 0.25 mm. Montgomeryite occurs as pink crystal tufts to about 1 mm across. Roscherite occurs as deep red crystals to about 0.1 mm.The lilac micro crystals are not identified. Beryl matrix.

The primary mineral featured here is hurlbutite, which occurs as yellow clear spheroidal crystal "beads" to about 0.5 mm with excellent coverage about micro crystals of pink montgomeryite to 0.5mm, deep red roscherite and black robertsiteBeryl matrix.

Spherical, clear beads of hurlbutite to 0.75 mm which resemble clear fish eggs as singls and clusters. Associated is pearly white englishite, pink montgomeryite, and light lilas roscherite. Beryl matrix.
