Grossular

Orange brown crystals of grossular to 3 mm in size scattered about a massive calcite matrix, the grossular crystals exposed from the calcite by dilution with acid.

The Arkenstone

Very unusual colour of grossular from a one-time find in Nevada. This material was part of a small boulder that Jack Crawford came across while out field-collecting one day. He never found the source.
