Goldmanite

Emerald green euhedral garnet in grains up to 0.5 mm occurs in a matrix of hydromica, chlorite and tremolite. A study of Uher et al. gives the following range in the composition of the garnets: goldmanite (27-65 mol.%)-uvarovite (19-34 mol%)- grossular (1.5-33 mol.%) - yamatoite (2-5 mol.%)
Origin: Pezinok, Slovak Republic
Sample size: 3.5 x 4 x 7.5 cm

Origin: Molinello, Val Graveglia, Liguria, Italy
Sample size: micromount

Tiny green grains and patches, very sparse in matrix
Origin: Struhadlo, Bohemia, Czech Republic
Sample size: 3 x 6 cm

Brilliant dark green dodecahedral crystals to 2-3 mm. Tom doubts if this is goldmanite, the rare vanadium garnet. It is more likely andradite, however Kidwelll had it labelled as goldmanite.
Origin: Belmont mine, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona, United States
Ex. Kidwell collection
Sample size: 5 x 4 x 3.5 cm
