Dravite

Gemmy and lustrous, brown tourmaline crystals to 1.5 cm are richly scattered in a matrix of adularia, muscovite and quartz. Thanks to Gerhard Brandstetter of http://austrianminerals.heim.at/ for additional information: prevali is now Prevalje, a village in Slovenia - not far away from the Carinthian border and during the Austro-Hungarian monarchy part of Carinthia. during this time it was famous for ironworks. Prevali is also only few miles away from Unterdrauburg (today: Dravograd) - and this is the type locality for dravite!
