White-grey metallic massive domeykite in matrix
Origin: Mohawk Mine, Mohawk, Michigan, USA
Sample size: 2.4 x 3.5 cm (left), 3 x 5.5 cm (right)
Massive, tin white to silvery fresh with a brownish-copper colored tarnish
(pop-up photo). This is a freshly broken piece and is very rich. Occurs with
"Mohawkite", a mixture. It is NOT evident what is pure Domeykite and what is
the so-called Mohawkite on this specimen. One would never know without
performing ore microscopy and SEM work ups with polished sections.
