Dioptase on calcite

Dioptase on iron-stained calcite

This specimen of crystalline calcite hosts scattered, lustrous crystals of dioptase. The largest crystal, also doubly terminated, is 1 cm in length. There are portions of several of the calcite crystals with inclusions of duftite.
