Cuprite

This specimen has an exposed vug filled with drusy duftite and rich ruby red crystals of cuprite. In incandescent light the crystal's ruby red colour is readily visible. There is also some native silver visible in the matrix as small 1 mm grains. Ex. Gebhard collection

Variety chalcotrichite. Ex. Gebhard collection

This specimen consists of a thick wire of native copper upon which are deposited a few crystals of deep ruby red cuprite with dodecahedral, octahedral, tetrahedral and cubic forms. Also found on the specimen is some microcrystalline ferrilotharmeyerite. The cuprite appears red in incandescent light. Ex. Gebhard collection

This specimen has several brilliantly lustrous crystals of deep ruby red cuprite to 1.1 cm across. There are also small groups of native silver crystals to 2 mm across on it. Ex. Gebhard collection
