Cuprite

This specimen of quartz hosts massive and crystalline cuprite. The cuprite is octahedral but has a rounded appearance due to so many crystals growing in the same place. It is really a bunch of interpenetration twins comprising one crystal. Most of the quartz is light frosted with micro calcite crystals.

This specimen of chalcocite has a thick layer of sharp cuprite crystals that are octahedral with dodecahedral modifications. There are also a number of lustrous calcite crystals coloured green by inclusions of malachite.
