A flat 2 cm crystal of sapphire rests exposed on a calcite, biotite and spessartine matrix. The crystal is a flat euhedral form with on one side several horizontal lathes impregnated with calcite appearing mauve. The opposite side is uncompromised with a deep blue transparency.
