Chrysocolla pseudomorph after malachite pseudomorph after azurite with wulfenite
The large crystal (shown in the top row from front, side edge-on, and back views) is fully 3.5 cm long, and is mostly composed of chrysocolla that has replaced the malachite, which in turn replaced the original azurite crystal. ON the front, it looks blue. On the back side, we can see that the replacement was never completed and patches of velvety malachite remain to prove the origins of the chrysocolla as a replacement of malachite rather than of azurite (the smaller crystals seem to be completely replaced).
