This moderately etched crystal of calcite hosts a cluster of sharp to lightly etched crystals of chalcopyrite. The largest is 0.8 cm across.

Origin: Mt. Lyell Copper Mine, Queenstown, Tasmania, Australia

Sample size: 4.3 x 2.9 x 2.3 cm (top), 2.6 x 2.3 x 1.5 cm (bottom)

 

  

This specimen of quartz hosts acicular masses of crystalline chalcopyrite.

Origin: Flambeau Mine, Ladysmith, Rusk Co., Wisconsin, U.S.A.
