Calcite with hematite and duftite inclusions
  
Apparently, as this calcite group sat in the pocket, the underlying matrix actually had a crack down the middle at some point, which allowed what appears to be an iron-based mineral to leak in behind the crystals, adding some attractive color to the specimen – then the crack filled in, creating what looks like a thin “vein” when you look at the back of the matrix

Colourless to reddish (due to hematite) crystals of calcite thickly covering a matrix of crystallized hemimorphite.
Origin: Ojuela mine, Mapimí, Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico
Sample size: 5.2 x 4 x 3 cm
 
  
Calcite/quartz geode pair. Minor micro pyrite crystals are sprinkled about.
  
Geode half  lined with sparkling quartz crystals, colourless rhombohedral calcite crystals to 22 mm, and pyrite crystals to 3 mm in size.
Origin: Sheffler's Rock Shop and Geode mine, Warsaw geodes, Clark Co., Missouri, U.S.A.
Sample size: calcite crystals to 13 mm (top/2nd row), 11.7 x 10.8 x 5.8 cm (bottom)
