The Arkenstone

This looks like a bundle of platy pyrrhotite crystals pseudomorph replaced by pyrite with another secondary overgrowth of cubic pyrite crystals. Although the featured mineral here is the nice 1.2 cm bournonite crystal perched near the top. There are also a few smaller crystals of bournonite about the pyrite.
Origin: Noche Buena, Zacatecas, Mexico
Sample size: 8 x 5 x 2.5 cm
