A classic high-grade copper vein from the famous Butte porphyry copper deposit. The bornites are ozidizing to chalcocite, but the crystal form can stll be seen in a few sharp crystals. John is not certain from which mine this specimen hails, but it is within the sericitic alteration halo of the porphyry as seen by sericite alteration of the feldspars.
