This specimen of altered rhyolite hosts a brilliantly lustrous crystal of jet black bixbyite. The crystal is 0.7 cm across and has trapezohedral corner modifications of the dominant cube.

Lustrous metallic mirror bright black crystals of bixbyite to 6 mm on edge set nicely on a white rhyolite matrix. Minor small crystallized topaz is in association.
