Azurite with
malachite

This specimen is comprised mostly of
malachite
as pseudomorphic of azurite with some second generation of azurite as crystals
and coatings on pseudomorphs.
Origin: Copper Queen Mine, Bisbee, Coshise Co., Arizona, Southwest U.S.A.
Sample size: 5.2 x 4 x 2 cm
This specimen of
malachite has flat lying crystals of azurite set on it. The
malachite appears to be pseudomorphs of an earlier phase of azurite with
subsequent azurite deposited on it.
