Reflected/transmitted colour: opaque, polished section white with a yellowish or pinkish cream tint. Colour changes with increasing Sb substitution gradually to the colour of ullmanite
Pleochroism:
Optical isotropy/anisotropy: polished section isotropic, complete extinction. Anomalous anisotropy is related to the amount of distortion in the structure.
