Formula: CuFe2S3

Reflected/transmitted colour: opaque, polished section creamy gray or pale brown, brass to bronze yellow

Pleochroism:

Optical isotropy/anisotropy: polished section strong (but not as strong as for pyrrhotite) anisotropy, pinkish brown, grayish blue, basal sections are less anisotropic. Sections perpendicular to (001) can show on close examination very fine lamellae
