Habit:  Crystals square prisms with steep oblique terminations; fibrous, columnar, radiating and divergent

Cleavage:  2; {010} and {110} perfect

Tenacity:  Uneven

Streak:  Colourless

 

Synonyms/varieties:  Leonhardite (partially dehydrated var.)

 

Comments:  Readily loses water on exposure and crumbles
