Streak:  Blackish gray

 

Synonyms/varieties:  Chalcosine, redruthite

 

Comments: Uncommon as primary hydrothermal mineral but important as secondary mineral. Commonly found in or below the oxidation zone in hydrothermal veins and large low-grade porphyry copper orebodies.
