Hinsdalite
This specimen is covered with pseudomorphs of hinsdalite after
mimetite.
The largest is 0.8 cm in length. Hinsdalite occurs as minute crystals oriented
in the shape of the former mimetite crystals.

Iodargyrite

Microscopic image
Origin: Proprietary mine, New South Wales, Australia
Sample size: 4 x 3 x 3 cm

This specimen is covered with velvety
malachite.
On that are found lustrous crystals of
azurite and
yellowish iodargyrite as crystalline masses with crystals to 1 mm.
This specimen is host to one of the largest masses of iodargyrite that I can
recall seeing. It is completely crystalline with individual crystals to over
0.5 cm across. The mass in the center is 4 cm across its longest dimension.
Scattered on the surface of the iodargyrite are micro crystals of either
embolite or
chlorargyrite. Iodargyrite displays color change between incandescent
and fluorescent lighting. It is a drab color under incandescent lights and
bright lemon yellow under fluorescent lights.

Lechatelierite (fulgurite)
These are photos of a 'fulgurite' - fused sand where it has been struck by
lightning. Bottom photo shows the tube where the lightning bolt hit and
fused the sand.
